About ORAHS
Over fifty years of operational research for better health services
ORAHS is the EURO Working Group on Operational Research Applied to Health Services, founded in 1975 under the International Federation of Operational Research Societies. It brings together more than 340 members from over 30 countries who apply quantitative analysis to planning and managing health care.
The group meets once a year, each summer, for a week. In 2027 that meeting is in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is open to anyone with a quantitative background and an interest in health services.
Papers and discussion
Talks on health system planning, resource allocation, staff scheduling, performance measurement and decision support, with real time for debate.
Healthcare study tours
Visits to local health facilities to talk through planning and management problems with the people running Nova Scotia's health services.
Social programme
A welcome dinner at the RA Park Officers' Mess and the conference dinner at HMCS Stadacona.
Accompanying persons
